Making things weird
Our first pitch was for Strongbow’s Halloween on and off-trade campaign. And it was against 6 other agencies (scary).
In 2016, the Walking Dead and zombies were all the rage. But it was becoming a little overdone. So we strayed from the gore and grisly and looked more to the upcoming trends of weird and strange - from American Horror Story to Stephen King remakes and that weird killer clown craze that a load of idiots were doing that year.
And we came up with the ’Strongbow CarnEvil’ - an activation where everyone, however weird or strange, we’re welcome. In fact, the stranger you are, the better! The campaign included bar POS kits, and rate of sale drivers for both bars and supermarkets.
The clients loved the idea so much they’ve continued it for 3 Halloweens in a row! Over that time, the campaign helped secure awareness and space for Strongbow in hundreds of stores and bars across the UK.
